Our Pastor
Pastor Greg Fontus
Greg Fontus is the current senior pastor of the Beacon Light SDA Church in Kansas City, MO. After spending years avoiding the call to ministry, the native of Miami, FL finally accepted the call on his life into congregational ministry in 2012 after he walked away from a serious car accident without a scratch. It was in that moment that God’s love for him was felt, and he knew that he had been called to a greater purpose of service.
Since then, he has obtained a Master of Divinity from Vanderbilt University with a concentration in Black Church Studies to add on to his bachelor’s degree in Finance and master’s graduate degree in Curriculum and Instruction. He served on the pastoral staff at the Riverside Chapel SDA Church as the youth minister for 7 years where he gladly took on the assignment to attract, connect, minister, grow, and retain the next generation of children and youth to Christ.
He is happily married to his best friend and wife, Schari and together they have a beautiful daughter named Ariella. His favorite scripture comes from Romans 5:8, “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
